On May 26th, 1995 an America West flight 564 was cruising west near Bovina, Texas at approximately 39,000 feet when the pilots spotted an object flying around 30,000 feet. The object was described as cigar shaped, at least 300-400 feet in length, with strobe lights blinking in succession in a counter-clockwise fashion. The flight crew immediately notifies the Albuquerque FAA Air Route Traffic Control Center to discuss their sighting and potentially identify the object.
On September 16th, 1994 sixty-two children, age 5 to 12 years old, of Ariel school in Zimbabwe had an encounter with an alien and UFO craft that to this day remains unexplained.
Six years before the Wright Brothers’ first flight in the small town of Aurora, TX was one of the most convincing UFO crashes in history. Between 1896 and 1897 there was a large amount of sightings, at least six that I could find, involving a cigar-shaped airship across the United States. This all culminated in Aurora, Texas on April 19th, 1897 when a cigar shaped craft crashed into a windmill that was located on Judge J.S. Proctor’s land. Among the crash debris was a being that was described as “not of this world” as well as a “martian” by the Army officer from Fort Worth.
The Belgian UFO wave started in November of 1989 and continued into April of 1990. Throughout this period a large number of high quality sightings occurred with a large amount of quality witnesses including police officers, Air Force officers, and civilians. The first sighting was on November 29th, 1989 with thirty different groups of witnesses and three separate groups of police officers. All of the reports were of a very large and low flying triangular shaped object with lights underneath and had no sounds associated with it.
The Betty and Barney Hill abduction is one of the first widely publicized claims of abduction in modern UFO lore. The couple claims to have been abducted by extraterrestrials in a rural portion of New Hampshire on September 19th, 1961. This story was later turned into a book in 1966 called “The Interrupted Journey” and in 1975 a movie entitled “The UFO Incident”.
The Chicago O’Hare airport sighting is one of my favorite sightings and to me, some of the strongest evidence to support UFO and alien activity. To give some background the Chicago O’Hare sighting was witnessed by dozens of people including pilots, United Airlines staff, airport operations officers, mechanics and more in and around the airport on November 7th, 2006.
On December 21st, 1978 the crew of a Safe Air Ltd cargo aircraft started observing a series of lights appearing around their aircraft. For several minutes the lights appeared to track along the same course as their aircraft. Throughout the encounter the lights would disappear and then reappear elsewhere in the sky quicker than thought possible.
On October 11th, 1973 Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker were fishing from a pier on the web bank of the Pascagoula River in Mississippi when they heard a whirring/whizzing sound. The sound was being produced by an oval shaped object approximately 30-40 feet across and 8-10 feet tall with two flashing blue lights. Hickson and Parker claim they were rendered paralyzed while three creatures examined them aboard the object. Once the examination was complete the two were released.
The Roswell UFO Incident took place in Roswell, New Mexico in June or July of 1947. There is some debate as to the exact date the crash happened. Regardless of the date, something happened in Roswell that would ignite UFO mania across the world.
On July 11th, 1991, citizens of Mexico City all turned their gaze to the heavens for an irregular solar eclipse because it was one of the longest solar eclipses in history, lasting over six minutes. As the citizens turned their gaze upwards millions were astonished to find a metallic object hovering in the sky before, during, and after the solar eclipse had finished.
On April 11th, 1980 in La Joya Peru an object was detected on radar that did not belong in Peruvian military airspace. Oscar Santa Maria Huertas, a commander in the Peruvian Air Force, was scrambled to intercept the object and destroy it in his Sukhoi SU-22 Russian made fighter. As the commander approached the target he described the object as being completely spherical with its upper section being a cream-colored porcelain and a metallic-grey base; that it looked like an ashtray.
Following up on the Chicago O’Hare sighting that I posted about yesterday, I wanted to follow up with a sighting that was seen by thousands, ruined politicians careers, lasted nearly three hours, and spanned nearly 300 miles. The craft which everyone claims to have seen on March 13th, 1997 was described as a massive V-shaped craft with six lights on its outer edges. Most witnesses say the craft had no sound associated with it, although some state it sounded like a “rushing wind”.
Thomas Mantell was a Kentucky Air National Guard pilot who was dispatched to identify a UFO on January 7th, 1948. Mantell, an experienced pilot, had over 2100 hours of flight experience and was a decorated pilot due to his part in the Battle of Normandy during World War II.
On October 21st, 1978 Frederick Valentich was piloting his Cessna 182 over the Bass Strait in Australia when he contacted air traffic control stating that he was being harassed by an aircraft 1,000 feet above him. He stated the craft looked unusual and that it was able to make abrupt changes in direction as well as hover with ease. At 7:12 pm, after several minutes of this harassment, all contact was lost with Valentich.
On July 19th, 1952 an air traffic controller at the National Airport in Washing D.C. spotted some peculiar blips on radar. The air traffic controller immediately notified his boss, Harry G. Barnes, due to the proximity of the capital and that no craft should be in this area around midnight.
